An approach that works in Brabant
Our Approach
Our approach is systemic, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive, focused on restoring trust and strengthening the position of families in their interactions with healthcare institutions and government agencies.
We believe that recovery is only possible when all parties involved communicate and collaborate effectively. Our approach therefore focuses on the connection between the family, healthcare institutions, and the municipality. We offer close support, which makes families feel understood and allows them to recover at their own pace.
1 Family, 1 Plan
Our Comprehensive Approach
At Maya Nova Care, we always work with existing action plans when collaborating with municipalities and healthcare institutions. We use the shared explanatory analysis or another action plan that is already in place for the family. If these documents are missing, we work within the municipal frameworks and integrate them into our own recovery-oriented approach. This ensures that we can tailor the family's needs for assistance to the existing structures, working effectively with the municipal consultant.
When working within the Samen Herstel project, we apply the 1Gezin1Plan methodology, which we supplement with the broad support plan. During the initial intake with the family, we map out the existing plan together with them, so that the family does not have to tell their story multiple times. We enrich this plan and ensure a seamless continuation of care. At Samen Herstel, the emphasis is on restoring trust and improving communication between the family and the care institutions, so that sustainable recovery can take place.
We always focus on maintaining and strengthening what works well in existing support services and align ourselves with what is already being done for the family. Together with the municipal consultant, we work on a coordinated approach so that all parties can work together effectively for the well-being of the family.
Trauma-Informed Care
Recovery begins with trust.
We recognize the profound impact that traumatic experiences can have. Our guidance is aimed at restoring safety and trust, always taking into account the consequences of trauma in everything we do. This means that we work at the family's pace, provide appropriate support, and do not rush the recovery process, but allow the family to find its own strength.
This approach allows families to feel safe and go through the process at their own pace, ensuring a sustainable and effective recovery-oriented approach.
Culturally Sensitive Techniques
Why this approach works
Tailored to the cultural background of the families we support. Where necessary, we use cultural mediators and work with key figures from the community to make care as accessible as possible. Through this culturally sensitive approach, we ensure that care is not only accessible, but also genuinely meets the specific needs of families, thereby reducing miscommunication and mistrust.
Flexible and Accessible
Short waiting times and a personal approach.
We don't believe in barriers. We offer short waiting times and ensure that care is easily accessible. Our approach is flexible and adapts to your needs, not the other way around. We come to your home or another place where you feel comfortable.
Continuity and Aftercare
Care does not stop after a completed treatment program.
Our involvement does not end once a program has been completed. We ensure a smooth transition and remain available for aftercare. This allows us to ensure that the results achieved are sustainable and that families continue to receive adequate support within their network even after the program has ended.
Collaboration with Local Partners
We work together with the region.
We work closely with municipalities, neighborhood teams, schools, and other local organizations in your region. This allows us to ensure a coordinated approach in which everyone is on the same page and seamless support can be provided. Collaboration with local partners is essential to providing long-term, effective support to families.
Why this approach works

1 Family, 1 Plan Our Comprehensive Approach
No more loose ends. We use the 1Family1Plan methodology used in Brabant: an integrated approach that looks at all areas of life. Together with you, we draw up a clear plan that everyone can agree on. We work with a shared explanatory analysis, in which your family's story is described in a document. We do this together with you, based on your questions and your perspective. The core of our approach is the family system: we look at the mutual relationships, patterns, and dynamics that influence the situation.
Trauma-Informed Care
We recognize the profound impact that traumatic experiences can have. Our guidance is aimed at restoring safety and trust, and we take the consequences of trauma into account in everything we do.
Culturally Sensitive Techniques
Our care is tailored to your cultural background, customs, and communication styles. Where necessary, we use interpreters or cultural mediators and work with key figures from your community to make care as accessible as possible. In the diverse communities of Brabant, we know how important this connection is.
